fruto|wash® proven effective in removing bacteria

The continuous development and improvement of fruto|wash® is conducted according to the highest scientific standards. To start with, the scientific patent gained for the formula proves the innovativeness and uniqueness of the product. To prove the effectiveness, we have run a number of laboratory tests studying the exact efficacy on removing different types of pesticides used around the world during the cultivation of the regular supermarket fruit and vegetables.

Most recently we have run independent laboratory tests in Denmark on how well fruto|wash® removes bacteria.

In our research, we focused on E.coli bacteria, which is a major cause of diarrhea. The results amazed us, even though we knew to expect a positive outcome: fruto|wash® removed E.coli from the test vegetables entirely, whereas water removed only a fraction of the E.coli present in the organic cucumbers the laboratory tested on. Additionally, fruto|wash® was found to remove also the "background bacteria" as effectively as it removed E.coli, and again, water was found to remove limited amounts of the "background bacteria" compared to fruto|wash®.

Though our main focus with fruto|wash® has been from in removing pesticides, which can have long term implications on health, we also believe that taking precaution in terms of bacteria contamination can in short term save us from discomfort of food poisoning. Need to protect against bacteria becomes increasingly relevant when in areas where hygienic standards are not always followed when handling and storing fresh fruit and vegetables.

We should not worry about bacteria in fresh fruit and vegetables only when traveling, but also when living in a country like Denmark. Recently the Danish Food Administration launched a campaign to encourage people to wash the fruit and vegetables before consumption, as the cases of bacteria related food poisonings are on the rise also in Denmark.
